Emergency Department Nurses Complete CEN Program

Kathleen Fink and Joanne Thomas have been nurses in the emergency department at Lakeside Memorial Hospital for years. Now they are Certified Emergency Nurses (CENs). To take the CEN exam, the candidate must hold an up-to-date, unrestricted RN license or nursing certificate. Why is this important? Nurses provide an integral part of the care a patient receives when they are seen in the emergency room. By encouraging our nurses to complete the three-hour CEN exam, you know that Lakeside is committed to ensuring competent and responsible care when you are in need.

Kathleen and Joanne are the most recent of Lakeside’s emergency room nurses to complete the CEN program. While the program is not mandatory, Angela Jones-Brett, Lakeside Memorial Hospital’s Director of Critical Care Services, has extended this initiative to all of the nursing staff to show their commitment to their profession and the specialty of emergency nursing.
